Doris M. Willis
August 16, 1927 - August 11, 2009

Doris M. Willis, 81, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A native of Brewton, Alabama, she was born on August 16, 1927, to Della and Clarence Weeks, she has lived in the Beaumont area for over fifty years, and considered it home.  Doris was a member of the Beaumont Elks Lodge which she and her husband were very active in earlier years and loved their Elks family.

She had a wonderful love of the outdoors, from working in her gardens, fishing on the water, or just sitting in her chair enjoying the day.  It was always the simple things that made her happy and appreciated everything she was blessed with.  Whether it be a box of jewels, a picture with the coloring out of the lines, or a flower picked on the way.  In the door, her smile saying "thanks" and "I Love You" was always the same.

Doris was a generous and grateful person who cherished her friends and family.  Even as she battled aggressive bone cancer, she showed strength, courage, spirit and love.  Doris will be dearly missed but loved forever.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda McGraw and her husband Michael of Beaumont; son, Dwight Jerkins and his wife Diane of Georgia; grandchildren, Michael McGraw, Jr. of Hemphill, and Kellie Woolf  and her husband Kevin of Beaumont; great grandchildren, Meagan Esquivel, Matti McGraw, Jessie Woolf, and Jake Paul-Louis Woolf, who all loved Tootsie so much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis “Bill” Willis; infant son, Louis Willis, Jr.; and parents, Della and Clarence Weeks.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2009, at Broussard’s.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Dr. Arfeen, his staff, and the staff of Harbor Hospice for their wonderful and generous care.
