Joyce Maxine Davis Moore, of Nederland, was born on November 20th, 1933 in Rison, Arkansas. She passed away Thursday, August 6th, 2009 in Fredericksburg, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 12, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Frank Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.   Mrs. Moore was the daughter of Thomas Herman Davis and Zelma Loree Thornton Davis. She was married to Richard Louis Moore for 54 years until his death in 2004. Mrs. Moore was a generous wife, mother and grandmother. She remained dignified and independent despite the challenge of living with muscular dystrophy. Mr. and Mrs. Moore enjoyed traveling and shopping at flea markets. She was a collector of thimbles and bells, an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts such as painting and jewelry making. She liked to work crossword puzzles, listen to Elvis and country music.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Varnice Davis Wooley. Mrs. Moore is survived by her son, Richard Moore of Fredericksburg; daughter, Linda Moore Fuller of Austin; granddaughter; Leah Kelly and husband Richard of Kyle; great grandchildren, Jason and Olivia Workman and Harper Kelly of Kyle; sister, Bobby Jewel Richard of Cheek and nephew Johnny Richard of Lumberton.
