Millard C. Burrows, 74, of Kountze died August 9, 2009, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon.  Millard was born January 15, 1935 in Shepherd, Texas to Millard Jackson and Dorothy Leanna (Sapp) Burrows.  A resident of Kountze most of his life, he was a retired ironworker with Local 125 and longtime member of First Baptist Church in Kountze.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maudine Burrows of Kountze; sons, Millard Burrows, Jr. and his wife Lucia of Tampico, Mexico, Greg Burrows and his wife Lisa of Kountze, and Randy Burrows and his wife Kandy of Springfield, Oregon; brother, Phillip Burrows and his wife Stacey of Beaumont; sisters, Peggy Peters of Zavalla and Irma Jean Will and her husband Homer of Orange; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Foye Johnston of Saratoga, Henry Johnston and his wife Beth of Etoile and Lamar Johnston of Kountze; and sisters-in-law, Laverne Glover and her husband Esker of Silsbee, Carolyn Brown and her husband Jackie of Sour Lake, and Charlotte Brown and her husband Don of Saratoga.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Calvin and Jimmy Burrows; sisters, Allie Revia and Roseile Redd; and mother and father-in-law, Velma and Vernon Johnston.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Kountze with Reverend Joe Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.  A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze.
