Santa Parigi Marino 
October 14, 1917 - August 8, 2009

Santa Parigi Marino, 91, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday evening, August 8, 2009, at her home.

 

Mrs. Marino was born in Beaumont on October 14, 1917, and was the wife of the late Joe N. Marino. She was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Beaumont and was an excellent cook, gardener and seamstress.  She loved to play bridge with the Jolly 12 and in later years, she loved to beat her children and grandchildren at cards and Scrabble! Mrs. Marino excelled at the Crossword and Jumble daily and was a source for those who were stumped. She was a loving mother and sent many meals to others over many years.

 

Her parents, Joe S. and Concetta Parigi; husband, Joe Marino; and son, Dr. Joe Marino, preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her sons, Nick Marino and his wife Carol of Beaumont and Jim Marino and his wife Teresa of Sulphur, Louisiana; daughters, Rose Steele and her husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sandra Farrell and her husband Thom of Austin; daughter-in-law, Becky Marino of Beaumont; grandchildren, Sarah Farrell Derrick, Nick Marino, Trent Marino, Katy Marino Woodward, Morgan Marino, Patrick Farrell, Ike Marino, Kathleen Farrell; great-grandchild, Peyton Derrick; sisters, Josie Drago, Frances Fontana and brother-in-law, Phillip Drago of Port Arthur, Rose Rinando, Sara Marino and Annie Coco;  brother, Dominick Parigi and his wife Gigi; and sister-in-law, Luce Parigi, all of Beaumont.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009, with a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m., at the mortuary.

 

Pallbearers will be Nick Marino, Trent Marino, Patrick Farrell, Ike Marino, Caleb Derrick and Davis Woodward. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Steele, Thom Farrell, Joseph Simien, Dr. Sam Parigi and Charles Coco.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church of Beaumont, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, Texas 77708.
