Arthur Ardell Clark, 79, of Kountze died on Wednesday August 5, 2009 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Arthur was born in Norfolk, Virginia on February 27, 1930 to John L. and Hyacinth Ayden (Edwards) Clark, Jr.. A resident of Kountze since 1973, Arthur was a retired chief engineer for Sabine Towing and Transportation in Port Arthur. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Clark of Kountze; children, Johnny Palmer of Kountze, Michael Bourque and his wife Lisa of Warren, Arthur Dale Clark, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Stafford, Virginia; brother, Lawrence E. Clark and his wife Sondra of Beaumont; sister, Helen Patterson of Virginia; grandchildren, Christopher Bourque, Jennifer Bourque, Ashley Palmer, Brandon Clark, Jameson Brown, Robert Brown, Kris Richardson, Katelynn Richardson; great grandchildren, Zoe Ann Copeland and Cypress Copeland.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 8, 2009 at Broussard’s in Kountze with Reverend Edward Thibodeaux officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday August 7, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
