Jeanette Lenore Dubose 
August 6, 1921 - August 2, 2009

Jeanette M. Dubose, 87, of Winnie, died August 2, 2009, at the Arboretum of Winnie.

 

A native of Sulphur, Louisiana, Mrs. Dubose was born August 6, 1921, to Ovelia (LeBlanc) and Felix D. Mitchell and had lived in the Winnie area since 1958. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings.  Mrs. Dubose enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the Tuesday Sewing Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnie.  She was quite involved in a number of church and civic organizations, some of which include the Hospital Women’s Auxiliary where she was a former president, Women’s Civic Club, and Young at Heart.

 

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009,  at the Mortuary.  

Mrs. Dubose is survived by her sons, Robert E. Dubose, Jr. and his wife Susie of Winnie, Mitchell D. Dubose and his wife Barbara of Paris, David LeRoy Dubose and his wife Harriet of Orange; daughter, Jan Elisabeth Hasson and her husband Vester of Winnie; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix D. and Ovelia Mitchell; husband, Robert E. Dubose, Sr.; sister, Pearl Lormand Barkat; and brother, Francis Daniel Mitchell.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Winnie-Stowell in care of the United Methodist Women, P. O. Box 1570, Winnie, Texas 77665.
