Gerald R. Norris, 60, of Fannett, died Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.  Gerald was born in Kountze, Texas on November 16, 1948, to J.B. and Merle Norris.  A lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, he spent most of his life working as a pipefitter and spent the last five years as a truck driver.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Mona Norris of Fannett; son, Gerald R. Norris, Jr. of Lumberton; daughters, Tammy Carona and her husband Jon of Port Neches and Nikki Mott of Fannett; sisters, Lynn East of Dayton and Theta Jo; and grandchildren, Kaley Norris, Gillian Carona, Jaci Carona, Bridget, Brittany, Sara, and Ethan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Holland; and brother, Kuter Mancel.

His memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Broussard’s Crematorium, 5150 Stivers Drive, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
