Wanda Louise Meriwether, 65, of Kountze died Monday, July 27, 2009, at her residence.  Wanda was born February 26, 1944 in Beaumont to Francis and Laura (Miller) Meriwether.  A longtime resident of Silsbee, she resided in Kountze the last sixteen years and was manager of Beall’s Department Store in Silsbee for many years.

She is survived by her son, Clint Landry and his wife Leslie of Nederland; grandchildren, Noah, Maggie, and Luke; and sisters, Anne Marioneaux, Kay Berryhill, and Jayne Meriwether all of Kountze, Gayle Stevens of Baytown, and Alice Vaughn of Beaumont.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with burial to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.  A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, July 29, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
