Barbara Garvie, 72, of Nederland passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.   Funeral service will be 2 pm Thursday, July 30, 2009 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the mortuary.   Mrs. Garvie was a native of Lamar, Kansas and lived in the Nederland area for 50 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her grandchildren and playing cards. She also enjoyed traveling, cross stitching and watching sports on TV and was a pink lady at Mid-Jeff hospital.    Mrs. Garvie is survived by her daughter, Denise Smith and her husband Lewis of Santa Fe, Texas; son, Scott Garvie and his wife Kim of Orange; grandchildren, Jill, Joel, Tyler, and Kristen; great grandchildren, Daron Jr. and Claire; sisters, Rachel Fuller of Topeka, Kansas and Mary Gordon of Beaumont. Also survived by her brother Chuck Motter and his wife Joann of Lenexa, Kansas and a host of other relatives and friends.
