Marcus "Mark" Dowling Stough 
March 5, 1922 - June 4, 2009

Marcus “Mark” Stough, 87, died June 4, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of Bradley County, Arkansas and resident of the Golden Triangle since 1943, Mark was a retired operator with Neches Butane. He proudly served his country as a Seabee in the United States Navy during World War II. A longtime friend of Bill W., Mark treasured his program and was devoted to helping others.

 

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Charlene Stough of Beaumont; daughters, Janet Wine and her husband Floyd of Arlington and Dana Outlaw and her husband Whit of Beaumont; grandchildren, Malorie, Ryan, Kate, Patrick, Michael, Lance, Eric, and Sherra; great grandchildren, Laurel, Caitlin, Jamie, Landes, Carolina, Sam, Nicholas, and Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and three brothers.

 

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2009 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 N. Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
