Bernice “Aunt Bea” Alexander Beaird, 92, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at Cypress Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Port Arthur.

A native of Blackshear, Georgia and resident of Beaumont most of her life, Mrs. Beaird was a bookkeeper for Tinkle Furniture Company and retired after forty-five years.

Her husband, Arthur Beaird; step-son, Lynn Beaird; sisters, Millicent Howard, Lee Tevis, Ora Dawson and Ruth Williams; brothers, Elbert “Eddie” Howard and John D. Howard preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Travis E. Alexander, Jr. and his wife Lurlene and John L. Alexander and his wife Shirley all of Beaumont; three granddaughters, Jenifer Alexander of Galveston, Ethel Bulgherini of Lumberton, Rosa Cegielski of Groves; two grandsons, John W. Alexander of Beaumont and Mark Alexander of Groves; seven great grandchildren, Chris Mazzu, Justin Cegielski, Jaclyn Cegielski, B.J. Bulgherini, Brittani Bulgherini, William Alexander and Abigail Alexander; step-daughters, Joann Bain and Joy Lancaster; step-sons, Elton Beaird, Clark Beaird and Mike Beaird;  brother, Hugh A. Howard of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
