Wesley Howard “Buddy” Jones passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at his residence.

Born on December 23, 1926, he was a lifelong resident of Beaumont.  His father was the late A. F. Jones of Beaumont, Texas.  His mother was the late Essie Mae Barrett of Port Bolivar, Texas then later Beaumont.  He graduated in 1944 from Spindletop High School, later called South Park.

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army seeing active duty during World War II and the Korean War.  He participated in the Army Reserve earning the rank of Master Sergeant.  He was co-owner of A. F. Jones and Son, Incorporated in Beaumont.

He is survived by three daughters, Diane G. Smith of Beaumont, Sharon M. Beekman of Conway, Arkansas and Marlot Kay Trahan of Beaumont; grandchildren, Christopher D. Smith, Stacia D. Smith, Allison N. Beekman, Andrew N. Beekman, Jason Lee Trahan, Jared W. Trahan; and great-grandchildren, Kennedy Lomas, Ryan Smith and Katelyn Smith.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont followed by a military graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening, July 10, at the mortuary.

Serving as pallbearers will be David W. Smith, David N. Beekman, Christopher D. Smith, Jason Lee Trahan, Jared W. Trahan and Andrew N. Beekman.
