Raleigh Girouard, --, of Groves, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the Arboretum in Winnie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Groves with  Rev. Msgr. Kenneth R. Greig officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. Family and friends will gather at the mortuary from 5 to 8 PM Friday for an evening of reflections, with a scriptural rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM.

Raleigh was a native of Port Arthur, and lived all of his life in the Port Arthur and Groves area. He retired as supervision for Gulf Oil Corporation in Port Arthur with --- years of service.

Raleigh was preceded in death by his wife, Millie, his son Poncho, and his brother, Lionel Girouard. He is survived by his five daughters, Sheila Boyd and husband Phil of Port Neches, Karen Melancon and husband Mike of Groves, Terry Reese of Spring, Bonnie Borel and husband Larry of Nederland, and Mollie Herman and husband Bill of Groves. One son Ronnie Girouard and wife Phyllis of Winnie, and daughter-in-law Sissy Girouard of Clearlake. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, Doug Girouard, Candy Girouard, Brady Girouard, Christine O'Connell, Karen Runnels, Tami Celaya, Kelly Jackson, Brandy Boyd, Justin Boyd, Michael Melancon, Emmy Cropper, Derek Melancon, Nathan Melancon, Angie Reese, Shance Reese, Shane Reese, Taylor Reese, Kristin Butler, Kayla Borel, Tony Borel, Keely Borel, Blake Lastiolais, Lyndee Henneberry, Ali Gentile Reese and seventeen great grandchildren, Josh Girouard, Jaycee Girouard, Leah Wade, Cole Girouard, Wyatt Girouard, Tyler Montero, Kayla Montero, Alex Celaya, Ali Celaya, Shelby Jackson, Coby Jackson, Braden Jackson, Caylin Poulter, Callie Melancon, Reese DelaRosa, Kaiden DuBose, Drake Henneberry.
