Johnnie E. Coker 91 of Beauxart Gardens, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Mr. Coker was a native of Cleveland and been a resident of the Beaumont Mid-County area since 1942 and was a very active member of the Beauxart Gardens First Baptist Church, having helped build the church. He was an avid fisherman and loved working in his garden.. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Coker; one daughter, Wilma Metreyeon; one son, Kenneth Coker and wife, Rossie; grandchildren, Terry Metreyeon and wife, Peggy, David Metreyeon and wife, June, Gary Metreyeon and wife, Michelle, Brenda Murphy and husband, Robert, Travis Coker and wife, Jamie; great grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Chris, Laura, Bethany, Maggie, and Dustin Metreyeon, Ashley and Eathan Murphy, Hailey and Trent Coker, and two more on the way in the fall. His parents John David and Lela Coker, grandson Michael Ray Coker, son-in-law James Elray Metreyeon and one sister Macie Brown preceded him in death. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8 pm Friday, June 17, 2005 at Broussard’s Mortuary 505 12th. St. Nederland. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Broussard’s Nederland Chapel with Reverend Larry Delcambre and Reverend Jimmy Robbins officiating.
