Marilyn Staudenmier died of cancer surrounded by her family and friends in Crystal Beach, Texas on June 13, 2005. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 16, 1938. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Bertha Guillory and her son, Kyle Bertrand. She is survived by her husband, Jim Staudenmier of Crystal Beach; sons, Jay Bertrand of Sugarland, Blain Bertrand and his wife Birgit of Nuremburg, Germany, Dennis Staudenmier of Lumberton, Kevin Staudenmier of Orange, Dwain Staudenmier and his wife Kim of Victoria, and Keith Staudenmier and his wife Stephanie of Lumberton; sister, Carol Koenig and her husband Ferd of Deer Park; grandchildren, Brittany and Brett Bertrand, Kyle Bertrand, Derek and Brandon Staudenmier, and Audrie Staudenmier; aunt and uncle, John and Anita Hulin of Groves; and nieces and nephews, Carol Wade and her husband Bill of Deer Park, Debbie Aubin and her husband Larry of Pasadena, Kelly Miller and her husband Paul of McGregor, and Michael Koenig of Deer Park. Lyn was employed as a department head secretary for B. F. Goodrich while residing in Nederland. While living in Wildwood, she worked as office manager for Wildwood Resort. She was an avid golfer, winning the Ladies Club Championship twice. In 1998, Lyn and Jim retired to Crystal Beach, Texas where she enjoyed fishing, decorating her home and working in her yard. Her greatest enjoyment the last few months was sitting on her porch with her family and friends watching her flowers bloom and enjoyed her view of the beach. Lyn was a loving and faithful wife, a devoted mother and a loyal friend. She was loved by all who knew her and will b e sorely missed. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, June 15, 2005 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 1605 N Major Drive, Beaumont. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Bay Vue United Methodist Church, Crystal Beach, followed by cremation at Broussard’s Crematorium. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Cryer, Ray Davis, Preston Cope, Alton “Pep” Hebert, Archie Miller, Raymond Guillory, and Johnnie Brandon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to A-Med Community Hospice, 8901 E.F. Lowry Expressway, Suite B, Texas City, Texas 75591.
