Donald “Gene” Fridelle, 63, of Kountze, died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at home after a short battle with metastatic lung cancer.  He was born on June 19, 1953, in Beaumont, to Loraine Lewis Fridelle and the late, Linwood Fridelle.  Mr. Fridelle retired, after thirty-three years of working as an electrician, from ExxonMobil.

Survivors include his wife; Karen Bridges Fridelle;  children, Michael Wayne Fridelle  and his wife, Kelly; and Sarah Fridelle, all of Kountze; grandchildren, PVT Adam McNeely, Mary McNeely, Samuel Fridelle, and Eden Fridelle; mother, Loraine Fridelle of Beaumont; brother,  Willliam “Billy” Fridelle  and his wife, Chris, of Kountze; sister, Betty Sue Holman and her husband, Paul, of Village Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with his service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday,  December 29, 2016, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
