Doris Kathleen Fail, 86, of Village Mills, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016.  She was born on July 20, 1930, in Texla, to Stella Peet Smith and Arthur Smith.

Survivors include her children, Sherry Eason and her husband, Truitt of Bastrop and Johnny Fail and his wife, Jean, of Webster; grandchildren, Stacy Eason of San Antonio; Sean Eason and his wife, Melissa, of Austin; Zac Rodriguez of Houston; and Harold Schmoyer of Webster; great-grandchild, Carter Eason of Austin; brother, Joe Smith and his wife, Carol, of Wildwood; and sister, Marian Medlock of McKinney.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Edward Fail, Sr.; and sisters, Arthur Mae Hankins and Marjorie Kirk.

A gathering of Mrs. Fail’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Wildwood Baptist Church, 100 Wildwood Drive, Village Mills, with her interment to follow at Village Mills Cemetery, Village Mills.
