Danny DuChamp
December 20, 1924 - September 25, 2016

Thomas Daniel “Danny” DuChamp was born on December 20, 1924 in Orange, Texas, to Laurenza Lucy “Garrard” DuChamp and Eugene Augustus DuChamp originally of St. Martinsville, Louisiana.  Danny attended elementary school at St. Mary’s and High School at Orange High where he was quarterback on the football team.  He subsequently joined the United States Navy shortly after the start of World War II.  He saw action in the Pacific Theatre, including the battles of Leyte Gulf, the Coral Sea, and Saipan, among others.

After an honorable discharge, Danny returned to the golden triangle where he went to work for American Standard. He worked there for twenty-one years, before closing the branch, as manager, in a corporate consolidation. This is where he met and ultimately married his wife of sixty-eight years, Marjie.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Rose DuChamp; sons, Thomas DuChamp and his wife, Debbie and George DuChamp and companion, Charlotte Huebel; daughters, Madonna Fletcher and her husband, Jerry and Sherry Vincent and her husband, Brent; grandchildren, Tracy DuChamp Mozena and her husband, Dave; Justin DuChamp; Charissa DuChamp Buchhorn and her husband, Nick; Jason Vincent and his wife, Tiea; Mason DuChamp and his wife, Lois; Laurie Vincent Breitbach and her husband, Conrad; Cory Fletcher and his wife, Brittany; and Tyler Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Morgan DuChamp Brack and her husband, Seth; Daniel McGuire, Elise Mozena, Mary Breitbach, Tara Mozena, Layla Vincent, Madison DuChamp, Chloe Buchhorn, Courtney Buchhorn, Makenna DuChamp, Kaylie DuChamp, and Jade Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He and Marjie were parishioners at St. Anne Catholic Church and attended Mass regularly until Danny became ill.  He enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors.  His tales of fishing and hunting with Uncle Happy are legendary. Camping trips and outings on the old school bus were regular weekend and Sunday getaways, especially for his children and nieces and nephews.

Uncle Danny is going to be sorely missed!  He was one of a kind.
