Darla Jean Whitman, 55, of Sour Lake, died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Harbor Hospice of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on June 7, 1961, in Beaumont, to Beverly Joyce Teddlie and Willie Otis Clark.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Whitman of Sour Lake; companion, Steve Hargrove of Beaumont; daughter, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Rhodes, of Sour Lake; step-daughter, Stephanie Hargrove of Nederland; grandchildren, Hannah Rodriguez and Carson Rhodes, both of Sour Lake; McKayla Nini and Madison Nini, both of Nederland; siblings, Dianna  Lee McMahon and her husband, Mark, of Neches; Greg Clark and his partner, Keith Soderholm, of Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bo Clark; and nephew, Jamie Clark.

A gathering of Darla's family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, under the direction of Broussard's, Kountze. Her interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
