W.D. “Buddy” Pelton 75, of Lumberton, died at his home on Wednesday August 24, 2016.  He was born July 10, 1941 in Jasper, Texas, and moved to Beaumont at an early age.  Buddy graduated from Beaumont High and served his country in the United States Army.  He retired from Mobil Chemical after thirty-four years.

Buddy was a loving father, grandfather, and an honorable man who was a charter member of Christian Fellowship Worship Center, where he served as a deacon for two terms.

Buddy is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Wanda Bridges Pelton; sons, Bryan Scott Pelton, of Plano and Brent Colby Pelton and his wife, Michelle; and granddaughter, Stella Jewel, all of Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Pelton Nicholson and Oland W. Pelton; stepfather, George A. Nicholson; and brother, John S. Pelton.

A gathering of Mr. Pelton’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Christian Fellowship Worship Center, 3950 Pointe Parkway, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
