Thomas William Busselle 
March 1, 1921 - August 6, 2016

 

Thomas W. Busselle, 95, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Serenity Assisted Living, Beaumont. He was born on March 1, 1921, in Warren, to Tom and Callie Busselle.  Tommy had two brothers, Theodore and Vernis; and two sisters, Louise and Blanche.

As a dedicated family man and beloved member of his community, Tommy will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Veteran of WW2, he served his country with honor and had a great appreciation for the American dream. While stationed in London during the war, he met and married Joyce Houdoire, a worker at the American Embassy, who he remained with through her death in 2005.  He carried a hard work ethic throughout his life, and made a successful career out of owning and operating multiple businesses which included an auto parts store and a chain of Command Performance hair salons, the first unisex salon company in 1979. He was also a talented musician, a skilled outdoorsman, and an avid golfer. His wife Joyce also shared his passion for golf, and they traveled extensively to play in golf tournaments all over the world. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and sharp intellect.

Thomas is survived by his son, Mike Busselle, of Nederland; grandchildren, Christopher Busselle, of Nederland; Tommy Busselle, David Busselle, and Georgie Busselle, all of Houston; great-grandson, Elijah Busselle, daughter-in-law, Tina Agee and her husband Terry, of Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Busselle, of Nederland; niece Callie Wilkerson of Odessa; and nephew, Edwin Casburn and his wife Linda, of Bulverde.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Nannette Houdoire Busselle; son, Pat Busselle; daughter, Lisa Busselle; and all of his siblings.

A gathering of Mr. Busselle’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
