Travis L. Durham 
August 20, 1925 - August 4, 2016

Travis L. Durham, 90, of Sour Lake, died Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on August 20, 1925, to Emma Sturrock Durham and Sam Durham, in Corrigan. Mr. Durham was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II and was a Prisoner Of War.

 

Survivors include his wife, Odell Durham; daughter, Rita Dail Durham Barnes of Trinity; son, Andrew Travis Durham and his wife, Denise, of Cheek; daughter, Darla Griffin and her husband, Calvin, of Sour Lake; son, Daniel Lonnie Durham and his husband, Daniel, of Liberty; daughter, Stacy Evans Bernard of Beaumont; and son, Lex Evans of Sour Lake; nineteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who enriched his life.

 

A gathering of Mr. Durham’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Sour Lake, 765 6th Street, Sour Lake. His interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery, Batson.
