Elizabeth Guillory St. Andre 
July 25, 1938 - July 18, 2016

 

Elizabeth Guillory St. Andre a former resident of Double Bayou, Texas passed away at her home in Magnolia, Texas on July 18, 2016.

She had many titles in her life time, but her most treasured title was Momma and Ma-Ma. She raised twelve children; Imogene, Jimmy, Melvin, Judy, Joseph, Glenn, Ruby, Leo, Allen, James, Angel, and Adam. The twelve children includes her nephew and two grandchildren. She viewed ALL twelve as her children. To a select few people she was known as Aunt Belle. Elizabeth was known as a “tell it how she saw” kind of woman. She had no problems speaking the truth to anyone. She held strong to her faith and love of the Lord, even in her darkest hours.  All of her life she took care of those that needed it, and she cherished every moment of it. In her final days she needed to be cared for and her grandson, Martin Obledo, stepped up to be her primary care giver. He never hesitated to do anything and everything in his power for her, along with her son Allen St. Andre, daughter Ruby Schwarts, and granddaughter/daughter Angel Fisher.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Schwarts (Rick); children, Martin Obledo and Rachel Schwarts; Angel Fisher (Danny); children, Danny Boy and Bella Ann; four sons, Allen St. Andre; children, Christopher and Katrina; Glenn Guillory, and  Joseph St. Andre; children, and Adam Keifer. She leaves behind twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodule and Alzina Guillory; husband, Martin Joseph St. Andre; four sons, Jimmy St. Andre; Melvin St. Andre; Leo St. Andre; and James St. Andre; two daughters, Judy St. Andre and Imogene Pena.

A gathering of Mrs. St. Andre’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, 2207 South Main Street, Anahuac. Interment will be at Martha Godfrey Cemetery, Double Bayou.
