Norma June Youse Crawford 
October 3, 1923 - June 24, 2016

Norma June Youse Crawford, of Beaumont, went to be with the Lord Friday evening, June 24, 2016. She went peacefully while surrounded by her family. She was an amazing lady with a very strong and secure faith and was ready to go to Heaven.


She was born October 3, 1923, to Wilrick Norman and Lela Colley Youse in Beaumont and has been a lifelong resident of this area. June attended Giles Elementary and graduated from South Park High School in 1940. She was a flag bearer for the Greenie Cadets and was very proud to carry the Greenie flag. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Cornie Crawford, in 1941.

 

June was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life and her greatest joy. She was Homeroom Mother for many years, Cub Scout Den Mother and Bluebird leader. She enjoyed working Precinct 19 elections along with her mother held at Giles School. June worked at White House Department Store for many years. She and Cornie loved traveling after they were retired. June was a member of First Christian Church.

 

Survivors include her son, Rick Crawford; daughter, Donna Jan Garner and her husband, Richard; grandsons, Scott Crawford Garner and his wife, Amy and Michael Todd Garner and his wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Julianne DeWese Garner, Jonathan Crawford Garner, Hope Katherine Garner, and twins, Samuel Todd Garner and Alice Frances Garner; niece, Judy Baker; nephews, Norman Carlisle and his wife, Nancy; great-nieces, Pattie Carlisle and Melissa Holmes and her husband, Shannon; great-nephew, Dr. Trent Baker; and great-great-nephews, Kaden and Kale Holmes and Cameron Baker. She is also survived by cousins and a host of wonderful friends including a very special family friend, Puggy Brand.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Cornie Crawford; her parents; and her sisters, Vadna Youse Carlisle and Joy Youse Erwin.

 

The family would like to personally thank the nurses and staff at Harbor Hospice for the wonderful and loving care they gave Mother. They helped to make this difficult time easier for her and for us.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Crawford’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
