Dorothy "Dot" Marie Halbert 
November 6, 1922 - June 7, 2016

Dorothy “Dot” Marie Halbert, 93, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Clairmont Beaumont. She was born on November 6, 1922, in Kaplan, Louisiana, to Lydia and Emery Meaux, and was a longtime resident of Beaumont. Dot was a retired registered nurse and a devout Catholic, having dedicated her service to St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica.  She was recognized as a Faithful Steward and received the Beaumont Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Outstanding Achievement Award in 2007.

Dot is survived by her sisters, Doris Weaver and Vilda Simon; and her dear friend, Mercedes Pierson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Virgil Halbert; and her parents.

A Rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by a gathering of Mrs. Halbert’s family and friends until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2016, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
