Mary Barrett Crittenden, 97, of Beaumont, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Calder Woods, Beaumont.  She was born in Meansville, Georgia, on January 18, 1919, to Mettie Barrett Benford and Alfred Crawford Benford, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont.

Survivors include her children, Butler P. Crittenden III, of San Francisco; Celia Crittenden of Houston; Mary Mayberry and her husband, Dennis Reiner, of Trout Creek, Montana; Cathy Sutton and her husband, Guy, of Greenwich, Connecticut; and Lisa Biser and her husband, Jack, of Waterford, Wisconsin; sister, Carolyn Henderson of Katy; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Butler P. Crittenden, Jr.

A memorial service for Mrs. Crittenden will be held at a later date. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
