James F. Worthy, Sr., 69, of Nederland, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016. He was born on December 14, 1946, in Beaumont, to the late Mary Hilda Delatte Worthy and Edwin Lee Worthy, Sr. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Daugherty Worthy; children, Kathie Janik of Kasilof Alaska, Sheila Yarbrough of Lumberton, Lisa Renee Cooper of Port Arthur, James Worthy, Jr. of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Alice Badeaux of Port Neches; sister, Martha Mildred Swearengin of Melissa; sister-in-law, Mary Worthy of Orangefield; and many nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Edwin Worthy, Jr.

A gathering of Mr. Worthy’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016, at Central Baptist Church, 903 Avenue B, Port Neches. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Central Baptist Church, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
