Doris Moorer, 76, of Groves, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2016. She was born on September 16, 1939, in Beaumont, to Wilma Terwey Moorer and Jim Curtis Moorer.

Doris loved playing the piano. She worked as a nurse for many years at Mid Jefferson Hospital, and currently worked at The Collection in Groves. She loved to laugh and  fellowship with friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Kim Shirley of Conroe and Kelli Kimball (George) of Nederland; son, Keith Brandin of Nederland; grandchildren, SFC Joshua Shirley (Jeannette) of El Paso; Brittiny Palazzo (Justin) of Spring; Sarah Shirley of Conroe; Joshua Kimball of Irving; and Jeremy Kimball (Mandy) of Port Neches; great-grandchildren, Molly Scharff, Jonathan and Dianna Shirley, Kade and Kail Kimball, and Athan Palazzo; brother, Dr. Fred Moorer (Charlene) of Beaumont; and sister, Kay Breland (Charles) of Mobile, Alabama.

A gathering of Ms. Moorer’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2016, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
