Donald Wayne Rice, Sr., 80, of Nederland, died Monday, April 25, 2016, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. He was born on June 27, 1935, in Hillister, to Mary Sheffield Rice and Adam Spencer Rice, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Rice, of Nederland; sons, Donald Wayne Rice, Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Beaumont; Jeffrey Adam Rice, Sr. and his wife, Anita and Bruce Edward Rice and his wife, Nicole, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Micah Rice and his wife, Myranda; Rebekah Nicholas and her husband, Michael; Jeremiah Rice and his wife, Emily; Sarah Howard and her husband, Phillip; Brien Walters; Luke Walters; Jeffrey Adam Rice, Jr. and his wife, Kristen; Matthew Ray Rice and his wife, Magen; Erica Clark and her husband, Allen; Noah Spencer Rice; and Emma Paige Rice; great-grandchildren, Will Rice, Walker Rice, Abbi Rice, Hailee Rice, Perry Rice, Bill Walters, Miley Walters, Allen Clark, Bailey Clark, Connor Clark, and Audrina Rice; sister, Myrtle Estes; and numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Spencer Carrell Rice and Virgil Ray Rice.

A gathering of Mr. Rice’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his committal to follow at 2:00 p.m., at Allison Cemetery, Warren.
