Bruce Gabourel, 62, of Katy, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born on September 9, 1953, in Port Arthur, to Verna Jane Broussard Gabourel and Hubert Carroll Gabourel.

Bruce was a retired Funeral Director. He enjoyed music, watching Formula One Racing, and animals. Bruce took care of his wife, Sherry, for many years.

Survivors include his sister, Loraine Petersen and her husband, Chris; brothers, Greig Gabourel and Douglas Gabourel and his wife, Diane, all of Katy; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Gabourel; and parents, Hubert “Gabe” and Verna Gabourel.

A burial of Mr. Gabourel’s cremated body will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
