Charlcie
Ardelia Woods Carter, 86, of Buna, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, at
Silsbee Convalescent Center. She was born December 24, 1929, to Minnie Ardelia
Carrico and Bartie Thomas Woods, Sr., in San Augustine County.
She is
survived by her daughter, Ann Gerngross of Silsbee; son, Larry Carter of Buna;
son-in-law, Jesse Young; grandchildren, Ryan Smith and his wife, Meeka, of
Benton, Arkansas; Kelly Smith of Beaumont; Zach Gerngross and Adam Gerngross,
both of Silsbee; and Amber Smith and her husband, Wayne, of Buna;
great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Kaelynn Smith of Beaumont; Charlcie and Johnny
Coleman Smith of Benton, Arkansas; and Karli and Zaryn Smith of Buna; brothers,
Bartie Thomas Woods, Jr. and his wife, Dolores, of Tyler; Elray Woods, Elton
Woods, and Mike Woods, all of Lufkin; Sister, Doris Smith of Hemphill; and numerous
nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nelwyn Carter; daughter, Susan Smith
Young; and sisters, Imogene Whitton and Eunice Butler, both of San Augustine;
Billie Wynn Nixon of Hemphill; and Atrell Sheffield, of Beaumont.
Charlcie
devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She
will be dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
