Virginia Avain Peters, 71, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Cypress Glenn Nursing and Rehabilitation, Port Arthur. She was born on September 23, 1944, to Fannie Ruth Spraggins and S.J. Spraggins, in East Talleessee, Alabama.

Survivors include her daughter, Stacey Cepeda and her husband, Juan Cepeda, Jr.; sister, Edith Annette Dean of Beaumont; grandson, Juan Jose Cepeda III; niece, Patricia Lynn Merrill of Beaumont; and great-niece, Annette Merrill.

She is preceded in death by her son, Scott Jason Peters.

A gathering of Ms. Peters family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. with her memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016, at Voth Baptist Church, 11245 Church Road, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
