Derrell N. Taylor, Jr., 89, of Warren, died Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.  He was born on October 22, 1926, in Jasper County, to Nettie J. Clark Taylor and Derrell N. Taylor.  Derrell was a Merchant Marine veteran having served in World War II and retired in the construction industry as an electrical engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Taylor; children, Rocky Darlene Gibson and her husband, Hoot, of Pt. Blank; Belinda Goodrum of Conroe; and John Douglas Taylor of Alvin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Bruce Taylor; and daughter, Linda Barbee.

A gathering of Mr. Taylor’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday March 20, 2016, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
