Frances Urla Hicks Dismukes 
April 13, 1924 - March 3, 2016

Frances Urla Hicks Dismukes, 91, of Beaumont, died Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Calder Woods, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on April 13, 1924, to Frances Cruse Pedigo and Virgil Thornton Hicks. Frances spent twenty-eight years as a teacher at Beaumont Independent School District. She was a charter member of Woodland Baptist Church, a member of the Women’s Club of Beaumont, and a member of the Retired Teacher’s Association. Frances was a Sunday school teacher, an avid bridge player and enjoyed knitting and golf.

Survivors include her sons, Clyde Dismukes and his wife, Betty, of Frederick, Maryland and Tom Dismukes and his wife, Sue, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Trey Dismukes and his wife, Melissa, and Russ Dismukes, all of Kingwood, and Woodrow Dismukes and his wife, Ananda, of Queens, New York; great-grandchildren, Tori Dismukes and Taryn Dismukes, both of Kingwood; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hicks.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Dismukes; three brothers; and one sister.

A gathering of Mrs. Dismukes’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Broussard’s. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Pedigo Cemetery, Town Bluff.
