Lawrence L. McCord, 74, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on December 4, 1941, to Lawrence Clyde McCord and Dorothea Fern Reed, in Marshalltown, Iowa, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He settled in the Beaumont area after his service in the military where he met and married Noel Ann Frugia. He worked for twenty-five years as an electrical and instrument foreman at PD Glycol. He gardened and continued to enjoy that as his health permitted.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed staying caught up on world events.

Survivors include his loving wife, Noel McCord; daughters, Allison Witschorke and her husband, Stephen, of LaVernia and Erin McCord, of Beaumont; grandson, Seth Edward Witschorke; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Dorothy McCord and Gwen Schnathorst.

A gathering of Mr. McCord’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
