Harvey Night 
July 2, 1921 - February 16, 2016

Harvey Night, 94, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born July 2, 1921, in Beaumont, to Sarah and Sam Night.

 

Night, a lifetime Beaumont resident, was a co-owner of Night’s Uniform Company, a downtown Crockett Street institution. A graduate of the University of Texas, he was an avid reader, enjoying everything from great literature to the morning comic strips.

 

He served in the US Air force during WWII, primarily in the China-Burma theater, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was active in the Jewish community, having a strong affinity to the State of Israel.  He was a friend to all!

 

He is survived by his daughter Barbra Night and Errol Chavkin; son, Allan and wife, Rivka; brother, Ralph and wife, Judy, sisters, Bernice Schnurr; Geraldine Rich and husband, Mel; and grandchildren, Nadav; Orry and Chloe.

 

Night was married for 62 years to his wife, Betty.

 

His funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, at Temple Emanuel, 1120 Broadway, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Kol Israel Cemetery, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
