Lawrence "Larry" H. Shelton, Jr. 
April 1, 1947 - February 13, 2016

Lawrence H. “Larry” Shelton, Jr., 68, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on April 1, 1947, in Beaumont, to Geraldine L. “Jerri” Shelton and Lawrence H. Shelton.

A graduate of French High School in Beaumont in 1965, he served honorably in the United States Army stationed in Germany. Larry was employed with Southern Pacific Railroad in Beaumont for twenty-four years prior to it merging to Union Pacific Railroad, where he spent his last four years in Houston before retiring in 1997. 

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine “Jerri” Shelton; son, Jed M. Shelton and his wife, Margaret; daughter, Cindy Shelton and Danny Mouton; mother-in-law, Connie Brocato; sister-in-law, Linda Fortney Galbreath and her husband, John; brother-in-law, Charles R. Brocato, Jr. and his wife, Sandy; affectionately known to his grandchildren, Mackenzie Shelton, Megan Shelton, and Danielle Marie Shelton-Mouton, as “Super-Paw”, he will be greatly missed. He also leaves behind an uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence H. Shelton; and his wife, Concetta “Connie” Brocato Shelton.

A gathering of Mr. Shelton’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His private committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
