Hilda Lopez, 83, of Winnie, died Friday, January 15, 2016. She was born on August 15, 1932, in Welch, Louisiana, to Emma Ardoin Fontenot and James Fontenot, Jr. Hilda enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Crespin Lopez, of Winnie; daughters, Marie Fontenot and her husband, Jackie, of Anahuac and Saleana Faye Lopez of Colorado; granddaughter, Kayla Matheson and her husband, Ed; grandson, Christopher Ross Lopez; sister, Carol Parish of Houston; brothers, Frenchy Fontenot and his wife, Linda, of Houston; Emery Fontenot and his wife, Lil, of Texas City; James Fontenot, Jr. and his wife, Nadean, of Alvin; Henry Fontenot and his wife, Letty, of Irving; and Donald Fontenot of Winnie.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Crespin Lopez, Jr.; sisters, Juanita Osborne, Carolene Fontenot, Helen Price; brother, Herman Fontenot; and grandson, Jackie Darrel Fontenot, Jr.

 A gathering of Mrs. Lopez’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
