Claude Eugene “Gene” Scroggins, 72, of Lumberton, died Monday, December 28, 2015.  He was born on December 27, 1943, in Kiowa, Oklahoma, to Ellen Wingo Scroggins and Oscar Scroggins.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Scroggins; children, Charlotte Scroggins of Tomball; Carla Tucker and her husband, Michael, of Sour Lake; and Carl Scroggins and his wife, Suzy, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Katie Tucker, Kevin Tucker, and Kaleb Tucker, all of Sour Lake, and Josie Scroggins of Silsbee; and brother, Bill Scroggins of Amarillo.  He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Louise Belcher; and brothers, Ray Scroggins and Ronnie Blakley.

A gathering of Mr. Scroggins’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Kountze.
