Ann Matthews, 87, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her beloved home of fifty-one years.  She was born on July 23, 1928, to Mattie Hightower Pickel and Lawrence Henry Pickel.

Ann was born in Pineland, and grew up in Houston, and lived her adult life in Beaumont.  She was married to the love of her life, Ken Matthews for fifty-three years.  Ann devotedly loved her family, friends, and home.

She is survived by her sons, K.C. Matthews, Jr. and his wife Sydney; Michael D. Matthews and his wife, Carol; grandchildren, Molly Matthews; Matt Matthews and his wife, Catherine; Jenny Matthews; Buckner Matthews and his wife, Kathryn; and Kathleen Matthews; and great-grandsons, Major, Lee, and Royal Matthews.

A memorial service for Mrs. Matthews will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Trinity Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
