Lois Gillespie, 78, of Beaumont, died Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on July 19, 1937, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Lena Kiser Betty and Otis Betty, and had been a resident of Beaumont since 1973. Lois was retired from the Texas Department of Human Services.

She is survived her husband of sixty years, Charles Gillespie; and daughters, Sharon Dodson and her husband, Mike and Betty Drummond and her husband, Dave, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Michelle Messina and her husband, Mark, of The Woodlands; Melissa McIntosh and her husband, Nate, of Sour Lake; Michael Dodson and his wife, Allison, of Port Neches; and Rebekah Drummond, of Beaumont; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Clark, of Florida, Grace McIntosh, of Beaumont, and Nora McIntosh, of Sour Lake.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Winford Betty.

A gathering of Mrs. Gillespie’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Westgate Memorial Baptist Church, 6220 Westgate Drive, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
