Eleanor Pearl Pool, 86, of Nederland, died Sunday, November 29, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of the area, she was born on March 6, 1929, in Port Arthur, to Elentile Abshire and Luke LeBlanc.

Eleanor was an excellent cook. She loved the beach and working in her yard. Eleanor was a member of St. Charles Altar Society for thirty-seven years and loved her church.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Latiolais and her husband, Dave, of Gulf Shores, Alabama; son, Robert Bruce Pool and his wife, Pearl, of Port Neches; grandchildren, Melissa Latiolais, David Pool, and Spence Latiolais; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of sixty years, Alfred “Preacher” Pool; sister; and brothers.

A gathering of Mrs. Pool’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2015, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
