Charlene Branscum, 88, of Kountze, died Friday, November 20, 2015, at Pine Arbor, Silsbee.  She was born on January 6, 1927, in Roscoe, to Mary Ellen Leonard Bourland and Charles Elbert Bourland.  She was a longtime member of the Kountze Women's Club and she volunteered and was an integral part of getting the Kountze Library started.  Charlene was a retired postal clerk. 

Survivors include her children, Debbie Harper of Kountze and James Branscum and his wife, Sherry, of Biloxi, Mississippi; grandchildren, Kim Branscum Harris, Stacey Branscum, and Ashley Harper; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Camden, Hayley, Mitchell, and Morgan; and sister, Betty Ussery.

A gathering of Mrs. Branscum's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.,  Monday, November 23, 2015, at Broussard's, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Kountze, 100 West Monroe Street, Kountze, with her interment to follow at Daniels Cemetery, Kountze.
