Mary Ann Ivy 
March 20, 1923 - November 17, 2015

Mary Ann Ivy passed away on November 17, 2015, after a brief illness. She was born to Henry Lipscomb Stephens and Zeffa Mae Stephens on March 20, 1923, in Jacksonville, Texas.

 

Mary Ann was a long-time resident of Lake Jackson, Texas. She retired from Dow Chemical in Lake Jackson after almost 30 years of service. Active in the community, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson for over 30 years and a leader in the Ladies Auxiliary of Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson. Recently living in Beaumont, Texas, she was a member of Calder Baptist Church.

 

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas R Ivy, Jr.; brothers, H.L. Stephens, Jr. and H.J. Stephens; and daughter-in-law, Martha Hallmark.

 

She is survived by her son, Dan Hallmark and his wife, Jan, of Beaumont; daughter, Sherri Snyder and her husband, Tim, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; grandchildren, Wendy Spears and her husband, Chris, of Houston; Stephen Hallmark and his wife, Jessica, of Beaumont; Layne Snyder of Austin; and Blake Snyder of Lawrenceville, Georgia; seven great-grandchildren;  sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Stephens of  Houston and Elece Stephens of Troup; and their families, and extended family, Curt Woodard and Clint Woodard and their families. 

 

A gathering of Mrs. Ivy’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Calder Baptist Church, 1005 North 11th Street, Beaumont, with her funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015, in the sanctuary, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, at Restwood Memorial Park, 1038 West Plantation Drive, Lake Jackson (Clute).

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Elizabeth Taylor and her staff, Cindy Mitchell of Holland Place in Nederland and her staff, and Harbor Hospice nurses for their compassionate and loving care over recent years.
