Dorris Stinson Jacks 
April 27, 1928 - October 21, 2015

Dorris Stinson Jacks, 77, of Vidor, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on April 27, 1938, in Springhill, to Mary Vallie Grant Stinson and Ocea W. Stinson, and had been a resident of Vidor since 1957.

Dorris co-founded Jacks Machine Works with her husband, Morris, in 1974. She became a self-taught bookkeeper and typist. Dorris managed the business records until her husband’s retirement in 1998. A longtime member of Pentecostals of Pines Forest, Vidor; she leaves a legacy of her lifelong Christian faith, her deep love for her family and friends, and her gifts of handmade quilts.

Dorris is survived by her children and stepchildren, Bonnie Dell Gray, Morris Gary Jacks, Jr., Stephen Lee Jacks, Joy Lynn Lewis, Doris Maxine Pierce, John Eric Jacks, and Sarah Isabella Jacks; grandchildren, Jerry Carlton Duke, Jr., Joshua David Duke, Justin Clark Landry, Madeline Michelle Jacks Kelly, Morris Gary Jacks III, Micah Jeremiah Jacks, Stephen Douglas Jacks, Stephanie Mari Jacks, Patrick Lee Jacks, Daniel Ray Jacks, Derek Brandon Lewis, Justin Wade Pierce, Zachery Alan Dauzat, and Zane Aaron Pion; great-grandchildren, Madisson Taylor Duke, Kyle Carlton Duke, Jackson Carlton Duke, Mandalyn JoAnn Gordon, Makailyn Emily Gordon, Maverick Landon Kelly, Joseph Stephen Douglas Jacks, Matthew Eugene Jacks, Mark Allen Hagan, Nevaeh Lynn Jacks, Alessandra Elise Lewis, Nicholas Alexander Lewis, Justin Wade Pierce, Jr., and Levi Nelson Pierce; and siblings, Jay Dee Stinson, Glen Wilburt Stinson, Dorothy Ann Stinson Mayo, and Delores Stinson Minshew.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Gary Jacks, Sr.; son, David Scott Jacks; and brothers, Doyle Lee Stinson and Truman Ray Stinson.

A gathering of Mrs. Jacks’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2015, Pentecostals of Pine Forest Church, 5005 North Main Street, Vidor. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Pentecostals of Pine Forest Church, with her interment to follow at Del-Rose Cemetery, Vidor, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Those serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Carlton Duke, Jr., Kyle Carlton Duke, Micah Jeremiah Jacks, Zachery Alan Dauzet, Stephen Douglas Jacks, and Derek Brandon Lewis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Zane Aaron Pion, Joshua David Duke, Justin Clark Landry, and Patrick Lee Jacks.
