Jackie “Gene” Wells, 76, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015. He was born on September 10, 1939, to Annie Maddox Wells and Junior Doyle Wells.

Jackie retired from the City of Beaumont as the Building Operations Supervisor in 1986. He was also the President of IATSE Local #183 and after thirty-four years of service retired with his gold card.

He is survived by his sons, Jim Wells and Mary Maddox and John Wells and his wife, Stephanie; daughter, Angela Devers and her husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Deborah Moore, and her husband, Jessie; Dana Marshburn and her husband, Jason; Jonathan Wells and his wife, Wendy; Jeremy Wells; Dominic Devers; Jacob Devers; Brittney Burton; and Dawn Burton; great-grandchildren, Jace Wells, Lillyanna Moore, Raelyn Burton, Makayla Ranzey, and Amaya Ranzey; and companion, Stacie Gary.

Jackie is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Wells; parents, Annie Maddox Wells and Junior Doyle Wells; and daughter-in-law, Leean Wells.

A gathering of Mr. Wells’ family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
