Nan Ellen Roscoe
November 29, 1916 - October 6, 2015

Nannie “Nan” Ellen Roscoe, 98, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015. She was born the youngest of seven children, on November 29, 1916, in Terrell, Texas, to Bettie Portwood Stewart and Walter A. Stewart.

Nan left her housewife life in Orange and moved to Beaumont to begin studying nursing at Lamar State College of Technology in 1958. She first completed the Licensed Vocational Nurse Training. The faculty encouraged her to continue for the Registered Nurse Certification which she accomplished as Salutatorian while working the 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. shift in Baptist Hospital’s Emergency Room. Upon completion of the State of Texas exam, Nan became employed by the Orthopedic Physicians Group of Doctors Alexander, Wallace, Shuffield, McNeill, Smith, Taylor and Clark. She retired in 1983.

Nan was deeply dedicated to her family and yet she managed to fit in world travel skipping only the North & South Poles. Nan loved her flowers! Who could ever forget her Lady Banksia Rose! We are so lucky, so fortunate, so everlasting grateful to have been her family.

Nan is survived by her daughter, Kay C. “Casey” Clark and her husband, Bill, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Jonna Clark Mitchell and her husband, Brad, of Boerne; Cullen Clark Lutz and her husband, John, of Amarillo; and William Chase Clark and his wife, Amy, of Three Rivers; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lutz, Layton Lutz, Ellen “Ellie” Clark, and Annabelle Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Ms. Roscoe’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2015, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
