Gerald Wayne Kolander, 66, of Orange, died Friday, October 2, 2015. He was born on March 27, 1949, in Beaumont, to Elizabeth Breeden Kolander and John L. Kolander. Gerald served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and later worked for the United States Postal Service.

Survivors include his son, Josh Kolander of Sulphur, Louisiana; siblings, John Lawrence Kolander, Jr. and his wife, Lillian; Ronald C. Kolander and his wife, Cleffie; and Molly Sue Ridley, all of China; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Chera Lee Drake; and grandson, Gabriel Kolander.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Joseph Henry and staff at River City Hospice and We Care Service, for all the loving care shown to Gerald.

His memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015, at China United Methodist Church, 205 West Washington Avenue, China, Texas 77613, under the direction of Broussard's, Kountze. His commital will be held at Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont.
