Benny King, 82, of Sour Lake, died Friday, September 25, 2015. He was born on January 30, 1933, in Beaumont, to Ada N. King and Robert B. King, and had been a long time resident of Sour Lake. Benny retired from the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He enjoyed fishing and all sports.

Benny is survived by his children, Dana King Harvey and her husband, Ricky Ken and Stacey Baize, all of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Brandon D. Kerr, Brittian D. Kerr, and Brock D. Kerr; five great-grandchildren; brother, Richard LaThadwin; and sister, Tommie L. Hendrix, both of Sour Lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary K. West.

A gathering of Mr. King’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
