Benny “Snooks”  Barrow, 90, of High Island, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Mr. Barrow was born on July 28, 1925, in Port Arthur, to Sophie Berwick Barrow and Benny Lee Barrow, Sr.  “Snooks” had been a resident of the High Island area since 1946.

Survivors include sons, Johnny and Dan; daughters, Andrea, Debra and Molly; eleven grandchildren;  twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of sixty-seven years, Betty Kemp Barrow; sister, Gloria Greer; and grandchildren Michael Barrow and Johnny Barrow, Jr.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, Texas. Mr. Barrow’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday. September 19, 2015, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 1308 Weeks, High Island, with interment to follow at High Island Cemetery.
